Well, alright. Class started off today with intense technological difficulties as Masson nearly popped a vein trying to get the DVD player to function properly. Eventually, new wires with white red and black (or is it yellow?) ends had to be brought in along with a whole other DVD player in order for us to continue our viewing of The Shawshank Redemption. But, as it went, we did not have enough time to finish the movie as planned. Tomorrow the final moments of the plot will reveal themselves to us. OH! I think it is important to note that the delightful little clementine orange flowerpot generously offered its services to a different plant this week, and the new plant has announced its permanent residence near the window. At the end of the period, those of us who finished our coat of arms handed them in to be scanned onto this very website. So, that's exciting.

To be honest, I had a doctor's appointment today and was pretty much not in class. Although Caitlin was a lamb and told me that the class finished watching the aforementioned movie and spoke about zooming in on people as to increase to dramatic effect, or something. I did show up to an empty classroom at about 10 a.m. though and was confused for a short time. I soon realized everyone was probably getting their Coat of Arms onto their little personal wiki spaces, and so, much like a bloodhound, I sniffed my way to the computer lab and of course, there was everyone doing exactly what I had imagined. (I don't know why that was such a long sentence.) Too bad it took about 25 minutes for the 1250x6000 pixel images to load, so most of us, (or at least I did), had to wait until we returned home to load and resize our Coat of Arms. A lot are up though, so, check those out probably. What we are doing tomorrow is a mystery to me and I am not looking forward to staying up all night in suspense.

Today we discovered the next film we will be watching is Casablanca. We headed over to Mr. C's room to use his computers to add an explanatory piece of writing about our Coat Of Arms. (Coats of Arms?) We were also told that we needed to insert a link on our spaces to our film responses and write a response on The Shawshank Redemption. The computers were really, really slow though. I don't think I even got that much done; I mostly practiced my whistling. I'm getting pretty good.

Today we went to the computer lab to continue to add to our spaces, and this time I actually got some work done because the computers had unanimously decided to cooperate. Woo! I also have a terrible cold and I hope I'm not forgetting anything because my sinuses are about six times the size of my cerebrum. We were also given another task, which was to comment positively on someone's Coat of Arms using the discussion tab on their space. MassMass also told us our grades will be for the public eye on this website under the discussion tab somewhere as well. We also wrote down some general terms of use for the Code of Ethics page to be added at a later time, like tomorrow.

Alright. I am so incredibly sick and if I can stop coughing and blowing my nose long enough to type today's events out I'm going to be really proud of myself. First, Masson whipped out a sweet slideshow about archetypes and some figures from Greek mythology to illustrate what archetypes really are. Sisyphus and Icarus made guest appearances. One archetype we talked about was the seeker who I guess is someone on a constant quest or journey for some tangible thing, like a holy grail, or even something more abstract, like the truth. To illustrate further the commonplace of the seeker in movies we are familiar with, Masson whipped out his favorite movie scene of all time: the beginning scene from Raiders Of The Lost Ark. We also saw a clip from The Fisher King, which was completely weird. I did not make it through this without coughing or blowing my nose.
